Pool Fences in Las Vegas, NV

A backyard pool is close to standard equipment in Las Vegas, and every one needs a code-compliant barrier. In many yards the block wall forms most of it, and the gaps are the side gates and sometimes a separate fence between the house and the water. We build both.

The rules come from the pool code adopted by your building department: the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Henderson, North Las Vegas or Boulder City, depending on where you live. They cover barrier height, how big any opening may be, how far apart horizontal rails must sit so the fence cannot be climbed, and gates that swing away from the pool and close and latch on their own. We do not quote the measurements from memory. We build from the current handout for your jurisdiction, and the inspector has the final word.

Material is your choice within those limits. Powder-coated aluminum and steel are the most common. Glass panels and removable mesh are other routes, where the local code accepts them. We also correct barriers that failed inspection: new self-closing hinges, raised latches, re-hung gates and closed gaps. Rental and short-term rental properties can face extra requirements, which we ask about before quoting.

Pool fences in Las Vegas: common questions

Does my block wall count as the pool barrier?

It often does if it meets the height and has nothing climbable beside it. Gates in the wall must still self-close and self-latch. The inspector decides.

My house wall is one side of the enclosure. Is that allowed?

Codes commonly allow it only with added protection on doors that open to the pool. Ask your building department. We build whatever barrier it requires.

Can you fix a pool gate that will not self-latch?

Yes. We replace hinges and latches with self-closing hardware and realign the gate so it closes from any position.
