Vinyl gives a clean, solid screen that never needs stain, and people moving here from other states often ask for it. In the valley it is used mostly for side-yard returns, around trash and pool equipment, along rural lot lines and in mobile home communities, where block would cost much more.
Two local conditions test vinyl: heat and wind. Long days above 110 degrees soften thin extrusions and fade dark colors, and old low-grade panels turn brittle. A solid 6-foot panel is also a sail in a spring wind event. We use product made with UV stabilizers, recommend white and light tan, leave the expansion gap the manufacturer specifies and set posts deep in concrete. Gate posts get steel or aluminum inserts.
Check the rules before choosing it. Plenty of Las Vegas and Henderson associations accept only block and steel in view of the street. Where vinyl is allowed, height limits still come from the city or the county, depending on your address. We look up both and give you a written quote.
Vinyl fences in Las Vegas: common questions
Will vinyl melt or warp in a Las Vegas summer?
Quality vinyl in a light color, installed with room to expand, handles the heat. Problems show up with thin panels, dark colors and panels next to reflective windows or grills.
Does wind damage vinyl fences?
It can pop panels out of rails or snap posts that were set shallow. Deep concrete footings and reinforced gate posts are how we guard against it.
Can one damaged vinyl panel be replaced?
Usually yes. The new panel may look brighter than the sun-aged ones beside it.
