Most installed fences cost $20 to $60 per linear foot in 2026, so a 150-foot job comes to $3,000 to $9,000. That is the national picture. A Las Vegas price depends on three local things: the material, how soon the digger hits caliche, and whether you need a whole fence or only gates and infill between the block walls the builder left.
Every dollar range on this page is a national figure published by HomeGuide for 2026. None of them is a quote from The Las Vegas Fence Company. Southern Nevada labor rates, material prices and what we find on your lot move a Las Vegas job up or down. Last checked October 2026.
How much does a fence cost per foot?
| Material | Installed cost per foot |
|---|---|
| Chain link | $9 to $30 |
| Wood | $20 to $50 |
| Vinyl | $30 to $60 |
| Aluminum | $25 to $75 |
| Wrought iron | $50 to $85 |
Concrete block wall is the most common yard boundary in the valley. The national figures we use do not include a per-foot range for it, so we price block work only after a site visit.
How much does a 6-foot wood privacy fence cost?
The national range for a 6-foot privacy fence is $25 to $60 per foot installed. The table uses the wider $20 to $60 range for all fences. Expect a tall, solid fence to sit in the upper part of each row, since it needs more boards and heavier posts. In the Mojave we normally hang wood on steel posts, which changes the materials list.
| Fence length | Typical installed cost |
|---|---|
| 50 feet | $1,000 to $3,000 |
| 100 feet | $2,000 to $6,000 |
| 150 feet | $3,000 to $9,000 |
| 200 feet | $4,000 to $12,000 |
What is the cheapest fence to have installed?
Chain link is the cheapest, starting near $9 per foot in the national numbers. For low-cost privacy, price a plain wood board fence against chain link with privacy slats. For a large dog in the yard on a budget, chain link at 5 or 6 feet holds most breeds. Read your HOA rules first. A lot of valley communities ban chain link anywhere it shows from the street.
Is black aluminum cheaper than wrought iron or vinyl?
Yes, aluminum is cheaper than wrought iron, and it prices close to vinyl. Nationally aluminum is $25 to $75 per foot, wrought iron $50 to $85 and vinyl $30 to $60. What Las Vegas calls wrought iron is almost always welded steel tube. It is the usual choice for view fencing on top of a low block wall and for side-yard gates. Aluminum is lighter and does not rust where pool water or sprinklers reach it.
How much extra does a gate cost?
Each gate is quoted as its own line. The price follows the width, the material, the hardware and whether a motor opens it. A single walk gate beside the house is the low end. A wide RV gate or a powered driveway gate is the high end. Most valley gates hang in an opening in a block wall, and we usually set steel posts in that opening so the gate does not hang from the masonry.
How much extra for a slope, brush or an old fence?
We price those after walking the line. In Las Vegas the usual extras are breaking or coring through caliche, cutting out and hauling an old fence or gate, digging beside a block wall footing, and hand-carrying material through a narrow side yard. Brush is rare here. Rock and hardpan are the local version of it.
I got three quotes and they are far apart. Which one is realistic?
The realistic quote is the one that prices the job you described. Lay all three out and check each for footage, height, material grade, steel wall thickness and finish, post depth, a plan for caliche, the gates, tear-out, permit handling and cleanup. When one number is far below the others, an item is usually missing. Look up each contractor's licence with the Nevada State Contractors Board before you choose.
Does a fence add value to my home?
A solid fence and working gates make a house easier to sell, mainly to buyers with a pool, dogs or young kids. Do not count on recovering the full cost. For property taxes, ask the Clark County Assessor's Office, which sets values for land and improvements.
Nobody can price a fence from a desk. We come out, measure the line and write the number down, and the visit costs nothing. Call (702) 829-5267, or text photos of the yard to that number.
