SimTek is a molded polyethylene fence with a stone texture and steel reinforcement inside the panels. In a valley where the standard boundary is tan block, it appeals to owners who want that solid, masonry look without footings, grout and a mason, for example along a rural lot line or where an old wood fence is being replaced.
The product is made for hard climates. Color runs through the material with UV inhibitors, so there is nothing to paint or seal, and the panels are rated by the manufacturer for high wind when installed to its instructions. That makes post setting the critical step. We set the steel-reinforced posts in concrete at the spacing and depth the manufacturer specifies, breaking through caliche where it is present. Panels also dampen sound a little, which helps near busy roads.
SimTek costs more than vinyl, and it is not a structural or retaining wall. Before you commit, confirm that your HOA accepts it, since some design committees approve only real masonry. Height limits come from the city or county for your address. We bring samples to the estimate so you can see the colors in desert light.

Is SimTek cheaper than a block wall?
We price both only after a site visit. SimTek needs no continuous footing, which usually shortens the job.
Can SimTek hold back soil?
No. It is a fence. A grade change needs a retaining wall built for that purpose.
